Evaluation 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Throughout the construction of the product I have used several technologies that include;

·         A computer

·         A camera - Sony DSLR

·         Camera reader

·         A tripod

·         Photoshop

·         Blogger

·         Prezi

·         Flickr

·         Google

I feel that through the process of constructing my music magazine, I have learnt a great deal about the different technologies involved in the creation of a product like this.By using a computer I have easily managed to upload and edit my images. I have managed to create a blog and upload images and text on to it. Also it has allowed me to use several useful programs and websites when researching and constructing my product.Obviously I have had past experience when using a camera however I had a lot more to consider when taking my images ,this is because I had to make my images look as professional as possible also they needed to attract my target audience. The use of my Sony DSLR helped me to create clear quality images which gave off a professional look to my images.By using a camera and I tripod together I have managed to create the images I wanted with minimal need of editing. By using a tripod it allowed me to take a still clear image that might have been difficult to get if I did not have a tripod holding my camera still. I learnt that I did need to use a tripod through carrying out a preliminary task were I found it difficult to take a picture that was still and clear without the use of a tripod.By using a Card reader I found it easy to upload my photos on to my computer easily and quickly. Throughout the project I managed to improve my skills on Photoshop also.I had had little past experience when using Photoshop however once I had picked up the basics I found it easy to edit my images. I also found that by adding things such as drop-shadows to text added to the professional look I was looking for when I was creating my image it also made the text stand out and look clear which was another main aim for me.By using Photoshop I edited my images for my magazine. I found this useful as it allowed me to create sharp images through the use of adjusting the light on the images and using tools to get rid of unwanted space on the image or unwanted imperfections.

I used blogger to create my blog and to upload images and text. By using blogger it was easy to organise my work and present it. It was also quick and easy to use. I had never used a online program such as Blogger before and therefore found it interesting to learn about. I felt that by using blogger it allowed me to present my work in an organised way.

By using prezi it allowed me to represent my research in a different way that was clear and interesting.

By using Flickr it allowed me to present my research in a different and interesting way that presented my research clear and well.
