This is the image I will use for the contents page. It will
relate to the image in my double page spread. The model will be leading against
a brick wall holding a guitar looking down. The use of a guitar reflects the
music genre of indie rock and the styling of the model will also reflect this.
This is the image for my double page spread. The image will
be an extreme close up and the model will be facing away from the camera. In
this photo I will use lighting to create a mysterious effect. I will place a
light low on the ground facing up to the model to create a dark and mysterious
look. The dark will reflect the indie rock genre as most people relate dark
colours to indie rock. I will place the models hair slightly over their face to
create an even further mysterious look.
This is the plan for the main photo for the front cover of
my magazine. The models body will be on a 45° angle and face looking
directly at the camera; this will create a personal effect to the reader as
with the eyes being on eye level the image directly addresses the reader. The
styling of the model will reflect the indie rock genre for example the models
hair being down and wearing a shirt reflects the indie rock audience.
This image is an insert image for the band ‘when the war
began’ on the front cover of my magazine. This image is a small image however
is important as it shows the readers of the magazine that there is a lot of
variety in the magazine. The three band members will be stood so the main
member will be further in front and the centre of the photo and the other two
members will be on either side and further away from the camera. By doing this
this highlights the importance of the Main member also I will use lights to
highlight the main member more. The band will be dressed in clothes like skinny
jeans and t-shirts as this reflects the indie rock genre. Also the use as a guitar as a prop reflects the indie rock genre as many bands use guitars in indie rock.
This image is an insert image for the artist ‘Kimberley Anne
Ryans ‘ who also features on my DPS the use of an insert image will make the
audience make the audience want to read the article and find out more about the
artist. Also the image shows that the magazine has variety. The image will be a
simple close up of the model and the photo will be on eye level with the reader
to personally address the reader.
This is an insert image for the band ‘The yellow ribbons’ the
four members will be stood in a diagonal line and the main light will be of the
main member who is stood at the front of the line and then the light will get
darker as it gets to the band member near the back of the line. The lighting
shows that the first member is the key main member of the band. The band
members will be wearing skinny jeans and tea shirts this is because this type
of clothing reflects the indie rock audience.
This image is of the editor and will go below the editor’s
letter on the contents page. The model will be on a 45° angle and will be looking
directly at the reader. This makes the letter feel personal to the reader.
Risk Assessment

Recording your findings
|
Sunlight
|
The photographer and the model, This could create headaches if the
photographer and model are out for too long.
|
Making sure to not spend too long outside to prevent things such as
headaches
|
Only spending a small amount of time outside to prevent things such
as headaches.
|
Artificial light
|
The photographer and the model. This could once again create
headaches due to the light being strong. If the light is touched whilst on
this may create burns due to heat from the light. The light may fall over and
fall on the photographer or model and cause injury.
|
Making sure the model does not look directly into the lights and
making sure the lights are not on too strong. Also making sure that the light
is stable to prevent the light falling. Also making sure the light has fully
cooled down before taking down and putting away.
|
Making sure the light was stable to prevent it falling. Not turning
the light on full power to prevent
headaches and making sure the light was cooled down before packing the light
away to prevent burns.
|
Props
|
Unsuitable for use, could pose a danger to the models. For example
sharp objects/broken objects.
|
Check the quality of props to make sure that there is no damage to
props that could potentially harm the model.
|
Checking the quality of the props to ensure the models safety.
|
Trip risks (Objects that are on the scene)
|
Models could fall because of hazards on the scene.
|
Checking the scene before the photo shoot to make sure that there is
nothing that could cause a fall. If there is a hazard then prevent it.
|
Checking the whole scene to make sure that there is no possible risk
of a fall when carrying out the shoot.
|
Walking to the scene (outside)
|
Walking to the scene
|
Take care when crossing roads whist walking to the location.
|
I checked the roads multiple times before crossing and it ensured
safe crossings. Using the public footpaths gave safe access to the locations
with no problems.
|
Environment
|
Potentially dangerous environment for taking photos.
|
Ensuring the safety of the location before taking the photos.
|
The locations were all safe and were checked several times before
carrying out the shoot.
